A lovely Red Seal from this Lincoln County bank that chose the name of the valley it was within. This bank was chartered very early. There are 36 surviving notes from large size, including around six Red Seals, several of which are very high quality like this one. It's so fresh and crisp it looks UNC. Excellent pen signatures of A.R. Reed and D.W. Potter are easy to figure out. Maine Red Seals are tough although you wouldn't know it here!
