This exceedingly rare bank is just a stones throw from its slightly larger competition in Sawyer County, the First National bank of Stone Lake. The First National Bank of Hayward printed just 2,352 sheets of Blue Seals and 615 sheets of Red Seals before closing in 1924. This beautiful XF towers above the only other known specimen, a Very Good. Neither note has ever been publicly offered, so I expect quite a stir when this note comes up. Two-color pen signatures of John H. Hellurg, Vice President and Will Mockler, Assistant Cashier are noted.
