Wow...what a beauty! Last August, as part of the Great Lakes Collection, we offered the second finest known of the very rare and desirable black-back fifty with the large brown "L" on the face. The note is the finest known, of the six notes of this type, outside of museums and government hands. This note was from the James A. Stack Collection, sold by Stack's in 1990 and it realized $27,500, a price equivalent to $200,000 for many comparable rarities in that sale. This is the Bruce-Wyman signature combination. Excellent centering, tremendous color and paper quality. This note has the appearance of a Ch. AU, but it may well have more than one light fold, so I will call it XF/AU.
