$1,000 Gutter One of Two Known
Error Notes > Federal Reserve Notes
$1,000 1934-A* G Chicago G-A
Grade:
VF +
Gutter folds are about the most common printing mistake made by the BEP, except when they affect $1,000 bills. There are two $1,000s known with interior folds; this example and a Kansas City from 1934-A. If you've ever dreamed of completing a denomination set of the error, or if the seed has just been planted, then place a bid on this piece. This note brought $4,000 in a sale from USA Rare more than 10 years ago. The Bart and Sullivan references suggest more realistic values of $5,000 and $6,000 in XF. It will bring whatever it is worth today; upon reflection tomorrow, that will look cheap.
Current Bid:
$ 4,200.00
Estimate:
($ 7,000.00 - $ 12,500.00)
