There were two national banks in Glasgow and both issued Red Seals. There are 22 large notes reported for this institution. Just two are Red Seals, survivors from a minuscule production of 650 sheets issued when the bank was initially chartered. Ironically, both are circulated and both came from the same #3 sheet. This example shows strong red inks and delicate signatures. The last time a Red Seal appeared at auction on this bank was at our February 2004, sale where one of the pieces brought $18,400.
