This Somerset County community enjoyed two national banks but only this one was chartered (in 1889) to issue large size notes. This is, by far, the finest of the two notes that have survived the initial issue. The other eight notes reported are lower grade Blue Seals. To say this example is a peach is almost an understatement. It has exceptional color and centering to enhance the pen signatures of McMaster, Vice President and the cashier.
