This was the only town in easternmost Chatham County to host a national bank, and it was home to five of them over the years. This large-only bank is not rare with about 20 examples reported, but this unique for type and new to the census Red Seal is another story altogether. If you could own just one Third Charter note from this bank, this is the note to have. Pretty, purple stamped signatures of Harman Myers, President, and F.D. Bloodworth, Cashier.
