Act of June 30, 1864 Three year note 7.3% interest. A rarity on which we have records all the way back to the Grinnell sale where it was Lot 230 and realized the princely sum of $215. It appears that after that it may well have been part of the Kagin's reference collection until sold by CAA in January 2000. A similar grade sold for $63,250 in January 2001. This is one of only six notes in private hands. It faces up beautifully with some minor soiling on the back. This note originally came with five coupons attached and interest was paid only with coupons. The note was supposed to have been redeemed with the last coupon.
