#1 Colonial NB of Pittsburgh Unique For Bank Red Seal Only
National Bank Notes > Pennsylvania
Pittsburgh, Colonial NB, E6567
Fr. 613 $10 1902RS #1
Grade:
XF +
This bank was chartered on January 2, 1903 and closed on March 23, 1904, less than 15 months later, and after issuing just 1,244 sheets of $10-10-10-20 Red Seals, which was their entire issue. We are fortunate that a bank so rare actually saved a #1 note. The note has a stamped signature of Joshua Rhodes, President and a penned signature of R. Moorhead, Cashier. This is certainly a note one would expect to stay unique forever. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
