It's quite a rarity to have a complete set of Alaska notes to sell in the same auction and of course, this is a bank set, but from any state other than Hawaii it's nearly impossible. This note is a sharp, evenly circulated Blue Seal from Fairbanks and yes, there are 58 large notes reported on this charter but only 27 are Blue Seals; 18 are $5s, with 4 being an uncut sheet. The others are all Red Seals. The note has excellent pen signatures of Geo. Hutchinson, President and E. Stroecker, Cashier as well and I believe these signatures make a more desirable piece. The last offering of a Blue Seal note from the District of Alaska was one we sold in 2011 at $12,650.
