This beautiful $10 Demand note last appeared in CAA's May 1999 sale (Lot 1008), graded VF/XF and it realized $15,400. Today I presume that grade to be accurate which makes this one of the finest of all $10 demand notes, which are about three times as scarce as $5 notes because they represent virtually all of an enlisted man's salary during the war. There are roughly forty $10 Philadelphia notes known and only a couple that have a chance of being better than this note. If you are looking for the best possible examples to logically buy then add this one to your list.
