This Herkimer County town was home to two national banks and both issued Red Seals. No notes are known on the low charter and only two examples, both serial #1 notes, are reported from the Manufacturers National Bank. A total of 1,250 sheets were printed for Red Seals. Not a scarce bank with 15 large notes in the census. Generally a high grade note, it appears to have been silked or laminated on the back. The process to remove most of the foreign substance has faded the front colors somewhat. Signed by Samuel Russell, President and F.C. Thurwood, Cashier.
