Fr. 589 $5 1902RS #1
Grade:
VF +
Here is an extremely rare one-bank town that should really excite the New York collectors. The bank was organized in February 1908, yet still managed to get 305 sheets of Red Seals ordered. A few Date backs and Plain backs followed, as well as under 200 sheets of small size. The bank finally gave up in 1931 and had a large size outstanding at that time of just $660. The census contains a $5 Red Seal with serial #2, this #1 and a Date back without a serial number. Also, a single small size is recorded. Track & Price was unable to locate a single offering of any note on this bank, ever. Thus, the debut of this important serial #1 Red Seal will be eagerly anticipated. Pen signed by Edward R. Everson, President and Cameron, Cashier. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
