#1 First Charter Grand Have
National Bank Notes > Michigan
Grand Haven, First NB, 1849
Fr. 382 $1 Original #1
Grade:
XF
A true Michigan rarity from a bank that was chartered in 1871 and liquidated by 1891, after issuing $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20s. Four notes are known to have survived. Pen signatures of Edward P. Ferry, President and Geo. Stickney, Cashier. Wally must have been ecstatic when he had the opportunity to find such an early and important rarity in great condition and a serial #1 note. Opportunity is the key to rarities like this. The note is very well centered and has had some restoration. A lovely example and the issues have been controlled. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
