This bank was chartered in 1874 and was successful until the banks were closed in 1933, which was its demise I'm sure. This very fresh note is a beauty with great color, centering and signatures of John Smith, Jr., President and S.A. Reade, Cashier. The note fits perfectly into the Lee collection as the earliest type possible that is known. Virtually identical to the DeGood example. There are 14 large notes reported, including four Brown Backs. The Dr. Wallace Lee Collection.
