A strip of batting cloth has covered part of the face and was retained during both the first and second face printings. The obstructing material was porous, so the inks bled through to leave a weak image on the note. Fortunately, the paper remained fixed to the note and is included in the third party holder. That itself is rare, as many obstructions are lost before the error can be saved. Graded Ch. Abt. UNC 58 EPQ, obstructed printing error, by PMG.
