Belfast had three national banks but this was the only one to issue Red Seals, as the bank was chartered in 1905, while most Maine banks were much older. There were 3,050 sheets of $5-5-5-5 and 2,140 sheets of $10-10-10-20 Red Seals but only two have survived, and the other one is worn out. This note came from a May 1996 CAA sale and it's quite nice.
