This was the largest of the three banks in Aurora to issue, even though they liquidated long before the small size era. The paltry issue of only 288 Red Seal sheets explains the single known Red Seal example from the six surviving large notes that are recorded. This is an especially appealing specimen with its low serial #67, full margins and bold color. The note has been folded in eighths and carried such that one quarter of the back shows wallet dirt. However, when viewed from the front, there is little evidence of this distraction. A rare Red Seal from a state where the type is recognized to be difficult. Last sold in 2000 in its one and only appearance according to Track and Price. Lovely pen signatures of A. E. Sickmann, President, and H. Cole, Cashier. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
