Mitchell was home to three national banks, with this being the largest. It is also the only bank that has surviving Red Seals, although one of the other banks did issue them. Just 1,600 sheets of the type were printed resulting in just two survivors. This is the slightly better grade example and it's a decent note with no real problems other than tight margins. This should be an affordable Red Seal, by South Dakota standards. Signed in pen by Wm. M. Smith, President and M.F. Patton, Cashier.
