Grade:
VF/XF
Of the 37 banks in St. Louis to issue, the Mechanics-American National Bank was one of the better-capitalized institutions. There were chartered in 1905 and started by issuing a huge number of Red Seals, 78,650 sheets in all. They closed in 1919 and were absorbed by the Third National Bank. Naturally, with a printing like this, even Red Seals are not scarce. However, this is a pretty one. Signed by Walker Hill, President, and L. A. Battaile, Cashier. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
