Fr. 589 $5 1902RS #1
Grade:
Ch. AU
For a big-city bank, you couldn't wish for a more desirable or attractive example. The paper quality is top-notch, as it is completely original and unmolested. The two light vertical bends are more storage folds than anything else. This bank was organized in 1907, just in time to order Red Seals, but it didn't last long, as it was closed in 1924. This is a wonderful serial #1 note with delicate pen signatures of Davis R. Morgan, President, and H. A. Crandall, assistant Cashier. It was last auctioned in late 2002, where it brought nearly $7,500. --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection --- Jess Lipka Red Seal Collection
