Basso-168. Philippines. Japanese Occupation. Bronze Tirad Pass Medal, 1944 By C. Zamora. With Crimson Ribbon. Created by President Jose Paciano Laurel for his Philippine Constabulary, this is the only medal issued by the Government of the Philippines during the Japanese occupation. EXTREMELY RARE with fewer than 20 awarded, all but one posthumously. This example has thick original patina and is in AU condition with a die crack/planchet flaw on the reverse. Possibly the only opportunity to add this important and historically significant medal to your collection for many years to come.
