Fr. 409 $10/$20 Original Double Denomination
Grade:
PCGS Apparent VF 8
This is the only known First Charter Double Denomination I have ever seen or heard of, and while it's been restored it needed it. The note has excellent pen signatures and I can just imagine the signers not seeing the error. It boggles my imagination. I am also surprised that the back is a $20 that is not inverted, meaning the face was a four note plate and the back was $10-10-10-20. The back has to be for a different charter as the sheets on this charter were $01-10-10-10 and $20-20-50-50. Wow...it could have been a $10/$50 double denomination. Low grade but an unbelievable rarity. PCGS notes: major restoration.
