The highest denomination found on any piece of colonial currency. Signed by Bolling Stark, John Lyne, and J. Hopkins. By 1781 inflation in colonial Virginia was very high and this necessitated higher denomination notes. PMG notes: edge damage and previous mounting. The Newman note, which graded PCGS XF 45 Apparent, sold last year for $2,880.
