Robert Morris signed this note heavily enough to have some ink erosion. Morris was known as the "Financier of the American Revolution." He signed the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution. He was also Pennsylvania's first senator. For these reasons, these bonds bearing his signature have always been extremely popular.
