A pleasing VF with stamped black signatures and excellent centering. There are just 19 large notes reported, few are any better. Benton is named for Thomas Hart Benton and was founded in 1841 as the seat of Franklin County. The current courthouse has been in use since 1875. Benton was also the site of Illinois last public hanging in 1928.
