Fr. 420 $10 1875
Grade:
XF/AU
This note is the only $10 First Charter known to have survived in a sea of 19 other examples, including 17 First Charter $5s and a $50 and $100 Brown Back, the later is offered here. The bank went into receivership in 1905. The Treasury number of N928 is quite interesting as it does not seem to match well with the bank sheet #1080, making me wonder if the first $10s printed were 'M' Treasury numbers, if so an uncommon occurrence. This note is likely from the Lindsey Collection, hence a liberal grade. A wonderful, high quality note that is well worth careful consideration. Signed by Wm. Sims, President and C.E. Hawley, Cashier.
