A lovely 1882 Date Back from this Peoria County bank with only seven large notes reported and none offered in a decade. This note has even circulation and excellent pen signatures. Chillicothe is a city on the Illinois River in Peoria County, in the Peoria Metro area. The name Chillicothe comes from the name of the Shawnee Indian chief who lived in the area with the local tribe. Along with Peoria, Chillicothe grew due to river traffic and quickly became a stop for barge and railroad traffic traveling to and from Chicago and St. Louis.
