A truly rare Confederate note in this condition and with the quality of signatures and paper, but especially because of the awesome and boldly printed back design. This note is simply known as the Manouvrier, named after the printer, J. Manouvrier of New Orleans. This note has the distinction of being the only 1861 Series note with a printed back, and the only note with Confederate States of America on the back. References indicate a small hoard of about 20 notes in Abt. UNC to UNC are known, with serial #1756 to #1785. This is #1756 and while not considered AU today, it is one lovely note hindered only by an uneven left margin. The issue included 15,556 notes. No $10s are known.
