G4. August 21, 1854. This is a true wildcat note, according to Steve Whitfield and his book Kansas Paper Money. Lucien Ayer came to Ft. Leavenworth in the fall of 1854 to open a bank, but he never did. The four note sheets were printed by W.L. Ormsby and were often altered. Formerly from the W.G. Miller, Jr. Collection.
