This is a very rare bank which issued First Charter notes only before closing in 1884. Just four notes are extant, two $1 notes, a $2 and this lonesome $5, all of them Original Series notes. Track and Price lists a fifth piece, but it doesn't exist, as the serial number (#2546) is actually this note which is #2516. Offerings on this bank are infrequent at best, occurring in 1981, 2001 and most recently in 2003. This is such a nice looking note with its vivid detail and color, I feel I'm being overly harsh to even mention its few pin holes and margin chip at the left.
