National Bank Notes > Colorado
Idaho Springs, First NB, 2862
Fr. 624 $10 1902ND
Grade:
VF +
There are only 12 large notes reported from this mountain community that supported two national banks, but only examples from this bank have survived. The quality of the paper is nice and the pen signatures of the president and assistant cashier are great. This note is new to the census after decades in an old-time collection. The last Blue Seal this nice was a decade or so ago. The settlement here was first called Spanish Bar, then it was known as Jackson's Diggins, Sacramento City, Idaho, Idaho City and Idahoe. Finally, Idaho Springs stuck, due to the hot springs in the area.
