February 1869. This iron works company opened in 1827 and was rebuilt in 1857. In 1863 they were in full production making iron for cannonballs for William Ead's gunboats for the Union Army in St. Louis. In 1872 they built a new furnace that basically put them in deep debt, going bankrupt in 1876 after being fined $10,000 by the State of Missouri for issuing these notes. Notice that this one was marked paid.
