August 1, 185_. Kicking off a neat quartet of proofs is a $1 proof from the Blackstone Bank of Boston. All four denominations have a vignette at the top left of Haymarket Square in Boston. Haymarket Square started back in 1830 and has gone through many transformations, making this a historically important vignette. An Indian princess with bow and arrow at right, large "ONE" overprint at center. This is an HPN. Imprint of Rawdon, Wright, Hatch, & Edson. New England Bank Note Co., printed on India paper and mounted on card (Plate A). No ABNC stamp on back. From the Eastern Collection.
