Kirtland Safety Society Bank $10

A wonderful signed and issued note from this bank that saw little if any circulation. This note has good margins (although the bottom is cut unusually). Like the other Kirtland Safety Society notes in this sale, this note was issued after the state of Ohio denied its request for a banking charter. The bank soon after refused to redeem the notes and their value plummeted. This note, however, appears to have been redeemed, as it is signed by Ovid Pinney in the upper left. Signed by J(oseph) Smith, Jr. and S(idney) Rigdon, this note is Haxby OH 245 G10 and Rust 8.
