The 2003 $2 FRN BEP Premium sets sold out immediately upon offering and have been popular collectible items for many years now. We know that the 12 note serial #00000001 STAR set traded hands many years ago at $180,000 and that the 12 note #00000002 STAR set was sold at $50,000. Both are with the same collector today who has no interest in selling either set. The #00000004 set was broken up a few years ago. This and the next are the two of the lowest serial numbered sets that have been publicly auctioned since the sets' release. All of the $2 2003 FRN sets listed here are housed in their original green books with matching slip covers and are in immaculate condition. Each set contains twelve $2 2003 FRN notes, all with the same serial number, from all twelve districts. This magnificent set, all 12 notes bearing serial #00000006 STAR held special meaning for Mel Wilmore. In 2012 Mel sold the most extensive set of MontBlanc pens ever assembled. Many of the rare pens in Mel's magnificent collection bore serial #6, making this specific set quite special to him.
