A sleeper variety in all grades and truly a rare number in this advanced state of preservation. From the face this note is nothing short of a Superb Gem. The bronzing is as bright as the midday sun and the original embossing is visible in the bottom of the portrait area. Unlike so many examples of this variety the "2" surcharge is very clearly defined and not the usual amorphous blob which is so often encountered. The back design is shifted slightly but not touching the edge which is all that limits our assessment.
