Of the dozen listed in the census, this $5 Plain Back is hands down the nicest example known. Bold stamped signatures, deep embossing and bright paper surfaces make this rather well-margined note look better than just Ch. CU. We sold a Ch. XF example in our 2011 CPMX sale for $400, and this note originally sold for $253 in a 1991 CAA sale, at a time when Nationals were worth nothing compared to today.
