New York Butchers & Drovers Bank $5 Proof
Grade: PCGS Apparent Abt. New 50
Extremely rare and possibly unique for the denomination. Two punch cancels at bottom signature lines with some minor damage and minor stains. Lightly handled with a couple of diagonal corner folds which account for the grade. Bovine creatures at both left and right with central vignette featuring Agriculture seated with cattle in background (were you expecting the butchers to show vignettes of sheep?). An incredible Proof note that is the only example of this denomination we have seen with three notes from that group showing up in a 2007 Heritage sale. This note sold there for $460 and we are quite confident today it is worth a whole lot more.
