Jan. 1, 1861. This on Demand payable note, issued and signed, by a private banker should have been in Haxby and Whitman. Gunn was an important exchange broker and local merchant. The issuer is exceedingly rare and this example was the only one in the Dorris Collection, presenting itself well. Very beautifully engraved and orange tinted by New York Bank Note Co. Only some petty repaired edge tears are noted on this exceedingly rare note boasting sharp color.
