A major rarity that carries the provenance of Donlon, Pick, Krause and Lembke illustrations. The note was sold by Donlon in May 1971, Lot 143, as CU. I can see a crease that is way off where you normally would. Maybe everyone missed it. Today the census offers only 28 serial numbers in all grades with the small red seal and this is the only the other example thought to be uncirculated. This is clearly in the top three as the color, centering and paper quality are most impressive. The '66 PPQ' was sold by us in 2011 at $241,500 and the other AU realized between $57,000 and $63,000 during a six year period. There is nothing more current on the Ornate Back Manning with illustration pedigree. PMG Notes: Exceptional eye appeal.
