Arvada is a Denver suburb in Jefferson County. This beauty is one of four small notes reported on this bank. The note has excellent centering and great color but there are several light folds. This example is the best of the four notes reported. From the Rocky Mountain Collection. ---- Arvada was named for Hiram Arvada Hoskin, brother-in-law of the wife of the founder and first postmaster, Benjamin Wadsworth. In 1860 it was known as Ralston Point and Ralston Station, for the creek where placer miners first discovered gold. Arvada is just seven miles from Denver.
