This is a very tough Evansville bank, one that operated for just 20 years until its charter expired and it liquidated in 1904. It was a Brownback-only bank, and just a handful of notes are known. Most of these are in very strong hands, leaving most Indiana collectors lacking a note from this bank. Here is an attractive, evenly circulated example with excellent pen signatures of Henry Reis, cashier, and John Gilbert, vice president.
