College Currency > Connecticut

1˘, $1/100 The Bank of Instruction
Grade: VF
CT-305-.01. No date or imprint. Hand-numbered and signed. Size 136 mm x 56 mm. Printed on the blank side of a map. Black and white, but appears to be light blue-green because of the map on the reverse that shows through. Center vignette of a soaring eagle. This remarkable set of four notes in this sale are attributed by Schingoethe as Connecticut, but there is no indication of origin on the notes themselves. The somewhat crude style, along with the use of "cents" and "pence", seems that these are very early, probably 1930s. The four notes make a very interesting set with the "4-1/6 cents - $1/24" and "16-2/3 cents - $1/6" being among the most unusual denominations of any North American paper money.
Current Bid: $ 250.00

Estimate: ($ 375.00 - $ 750.00)
