Brigham City, First NB, 6036
Fr. 1800-1 $5 1929T1
Grade:
VF/XF
This location was first explored by William Davison in 1850 and he returned a year later to settle. Brigham Young directed Lorenzo Snow to create a self-sufficient city there in 1853, which came to be named Box Elder. The name was changed in 1877 after Brigham Young gave his last public speech there that year. These notes were issued during a difficult economic period for Brigham City, so few were issued or have survived. This note is new to the census, and there is probably only one note that may be a better grade.
