$1 Commercial College Bank, San Jose
Grade: XF
CA-380-1. Act of Jan. 1, 1877, No. 123465. Full size, black and white uniface note. A very clever note, used as practice money, but made to look like circulating money and worded accordingly. Vignettes of Liberty on the left, the California state seal on the right, a small ship to the left of "San Jose, Cal." and a small train to the right. There is a purple printed "R" on the obverse. Some discoloration on the lower left and upper right. Pieces missing from the corner, lower left and upper right. An attractive and rare California note.
