This is a whale of a note that came from Joe Hensley's collection. It is a real beauty that has added grading comments such as great color and margins. I will add it has plenty of pizzazz and is good enough to be a proud part of any collection. This note was last offered publicly at our December 2000 sale of the Great Western Collection, Lot 237, where we described is as follows, "This is one of about two dozen pieces we know of. The single uncirculated example in private hands was sold by us last May (2000) at $35,200. The note is strictly original, beautifully margined and retains its 100% brilliant color on both face and back. It is among the finest known examples of this number and a handsome note that would bring pride to any collector of important Gold Certificates. Only six examples of this number have reached the auction block in this decade." Graded Ch. VF 35, great color and margins, by PMG.
