This set came from the #1 - #100 pack formerly owned by Aubrey Bebee. Most all of the sets that we have seen over the years had been, at one time, mounted inside frames. Most all of the notes in this pack, including this set have had tiny mounting remnants professionally removed from the back four corners. The buyer of the match set of #00000002 notes from this same series paid $4887 as Lot 1004, in the March 9, 2012 Billy Key Sale part I, while the #00000001 set, lot 1000, realized $25,300. The following grades have been assigned to each note: $1 1928-B SC #X00000009B is PCGS Very Choice CU 64 Apparent, $1 1928-A SC #Y00000009B is PCGS Choice Ch. CU 63 Apparent, $1 1928-B SC #Z00000009B is PCGS Very Choice CU 64 Apparent. We note that this #00000009 set received higher grades from PCGS than both the #00000001 and #00000002 sets.
