AMAZING TOWN DISCOVERY

National Bank Notes > Ohio

Cuyahoga Falls, First NB, 378
Fr. 394 $5 Original
Grade: VG
This note represents a most important find for Ohio collectors. This bank was undoubtedly on a list of towns/banks that were expected to never be found. The bank was chartered in 1864 and closed in 1868, making it one of the earliest national bank institutions to close. The bank issued 1,000 sheets of $1-$1-$1-$2 and 2,000 sheets of $5 notes. This note has clear signatures but has had some restoration to stabilize it. This note has a $15,000 Kelly premium, but that is for a Fine or better and, no doubt, if this note was Fine or better it would bring that. Lower grades are less predictable in the market, so I've chosen to err on the side of caution a bit with the estimate.
Current Bid: $ 3,900.00

Estimate: ($ 6,500.00 - $ 12,500.00)
