Here is likely the most exciting find of the sale as this bank was chartered in 1872 and closed in 1915. To date there are only five large notes reported on this Ogle County location. There were no $1 or $2 First Charters known before and this sheet, which has had the Deuce detached; the other three Aces remain attached. The notes have an excellent appearance along with excellent pen signatures and great color. All notes are higher quality than any of the known examples. The Deuce is VF/XF, as are the Aces but with a couple of restoration spots on the fold lines. Just a wonderful item.
